Sometimes I wonder if I am inadvertently causing problems for myself and my children based on how I view the world.All of this came to mind after I read the story of Prince Jones who was killed by the police back in 2000 while driving to his fiance’s house.
Prince, like so many other Brotha’s was just minding his business, trying to do the right thing when his life was taken for apparently no other reason than he was Black… or was it?

So lately a lot of people have been finding this blog and that’s cool.I recognize being a sub-domain of www.cocoalounge.org alone will bring this blog traffic.
However, with this traffic comes people asking to exchange links with me or add their link to Cocoa Lounge directly.Now let me tell you, I won’t link my blog or my site to just anybody, so here is a few basic ideas as to what type of blog/site I will and won’t link to.And please know that I am not snotty… just picky.
For my Sistahs, if your blog is all about sex and fashion, don’t bother e-mailing me and asking for a “hook up”.I have no problem with what you do or blog about, I just don’t want to be affiliated with it.
Also, if you totally blog about your “natural” hair, I will absolutely positively not link you.That crap just annoys the hell outta me.A bunch of Black women who chose to go natural then spend their time typing about what stupid friggin’ white people think about it.I swear everytime I run across one of those blogs I just want to scream.

I paid somebody $20.00 to install a Movable Type blog for me and I am still mad about that damn mistake.With all I had heard about MT I seriously expected to have done a helluva lot more with that blog than I have so far.
MT is like the dinosaur of the blogging world and I can see why now.It is almost impossible to learn, navigate of style.The only thing MT does well is get indexed by the search engines.That however, doesn’t mean a darn thing if you can’t even get the blog up and running.
Ugggg… I am still working on getting a decent style up over there and the support forum is of no use.MT is for profit and so they ain’t givin’ up no info for free.Sometimes I wonder why I even waste my time…
As my birthday quickly approaches and I find myself getting closer and closer to the big 4-0, I can’t help but ask myself “What have I done with my life? ”
I’m almost 34 years old and as I look back at my life from 20 to now, I wonder what I have to show for it?
I have 3 children who have brought a tremendous amount of joy to my life, but having children is not an accomplishment.
I haven’t gone to college.I haven’t started a career.I don’t own a home or even a car.Hell, I can’t even drive.I own property, but that was given to me, I didn’t work for it… my Grandmother did.Owning land was her accomplishment not mine.
So as I continue to look back at my life since I became an adult, a part of me cannot help but feel like a total and complete failure.

One of the reasons I love Firefox so much is because it comes with a host of handly little plugins for web devolopers and designers.Or in my case, wanna-be web developers and designers… lol.
Well my favorite new toy right now is the Screen Grab plugin which allows you to take full screenshots of any page… not just the visible part.I mean from the very top to the bottom… every ounce of the page you are looking at is captured.
I use this feature quite often and I cannot tell you how handy this little baby comes in.Screen Grab gets 2 cool *thumbsup* from me.
