I Have Been Reliving My Youth Lately

February 27th, 2006 ( February 27th, 2006 )

I recently ran across You Tube and I have been slightly addicted every since.Because I am usually 6 months behind the rest of the world, I am sure most of you already know what this is.

Anyway, a friend sent me a clip of En Vogue’s first appearance at the Apollo Theatre and it brought so many memories.I was 18 or 19 years when they hit and I was a mad fan from the beginning. The music of En Vogue was a huge part of my youth.

An even huger part was the music of Whitney Houston. Many people today know me as a huge Janet fan, but before I was a fan of Janet’s music, I was a fan of Whitney’s music.Back in the day Whitney was a staple of every music awards show and I was right there glued to the television and mesmerized by her voice.Whitney Houston was a sho’ nuff diva back in the day who could sing her behind off.Rarely would Whitney sing and not get a standing ovation. The girl was bad.

For those of you looking for a taste of your youth, I suggest you too stop by You Tube and do a little serach for whatever or whomever interests you.You won’t be disappointed.

Btw, here are my favorite performances ever by The Funky Divas: En Vogue Old Skool Medley and Whitney Houston: Where Do Broken Hearts Go
