Sex and Capitalism

The capitalist system requires that you continue to increase your profits in order to just stay afloat. What you buy today cannot be bought tomorrow at the same price. Time cheapens western valued goods but increases their costs. And, like everything else, sex is a commodity in the capitalist system. You can never be satisfied. There can never be enough sexual conquests… Each single transaction ends with the completion of each sexual act.
The more climaxes one acquires during the game, the more capital one acquires. The measure of sexual satisfaction also becomes tied to the number of orgasms achieved in one encounter – the multiple orgasm phenomenon. The only problem is that orgasms are ephemeral. They last only until the physical sensation dies. The sexual release of tension is only temporary, so it is necessary to repeatedly perform the act over and over again in rapid succession in order to achieve some semblance of momentary peace. As the physical sensation subsides, the value of that particular sexual act loses its value. Nothing tangible remains to count. As a near immediate result, the partner’s previous breathtaking attraction wanes. In the western mind, the sensation is associated with the orgasm, not the person it was committed against. Ergo, many have the problem of not being respected the morning after.
In this game, with this commodity, the recurring, remaining choice is simple. Either push for additional sexual value through more intense sexual games with the current partner or search for “perfection” in a never ending dating game. The latter is increasingly chosen due to the incessant drive for difference and diversity characteristic of european style progress as conquest. Like they’ve taken everything else to the extreme (so-called progress), they’ve done the same with the body and sex. The move has been from partial nudity to complete nudity, from a peck on the cheek to sadomasochistic sexual deviance. Viva la diffĂ©rence is a european cultural motto. Extreme variety becomes the spice in otherwise meaningless lives.
